Shot-stopper

Alphonse Areola (West Ham): West Ham could have been six goals down at Bournemouth but for him. Crucial performance, stepped up and showed top ability. Some top goalkeeping to earn them a 2-2 draw. Losing might have ruined their entire term.

Backline

Daniel Munoz (Crystal Palace): He's up there for top performer. Many discuss Arsenal's squad. He is the best performer by far.

Murillo (Nottingham Forest): You'd have been a crazy Forest fan to say 'Murillo nets and we'll beat Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield'. The odds were massive odds on that. He shone. He is turning into a force. He can really be a handful. Pleased to observe his form like last season.

Malick Thiaw (Newcastle): I watched him multiple matches earlier in Italy for AC Milan and he had difficulties because he was making mistakes. However with the Magpies he's been dominant. He displays really strong and imposing and seems polished. It seems he's found a spiritual home.

Ferdi Kadioglu (Brighton): Not usually a full-back, leaning towards a contemporary style going forward. He's been a excellent acquisition for Brighton. Who would be surprised at them discovering another star from obscurity? It seemed after selling Pervis Estupinan it raised eyebrows but Brighton know what they're doing.

Engine room

Sander Berge (Fulham) and Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest): Similar players and they make it for the shared purpose. Their clubs triumphed, many mention those who netted, but lacking these players the sides struggle. They excel. They disrupt opposition, they support going forward.

Eberechi Eze (Arsenal): The man of the moment. Many Arsenal fans, like my child, were questioning if he could be the man to get them over the top. Three strikes in the north London derby and supporters now wish to erect a monument of him. Finishing, poise, he dominated. The best player on the pitch.

Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa): Perhaps this represents point of agreement with Thomas Tuchel on - he is at a point now where it is very difficult to leave him out. My view was his beginning was strong to the season, I think he was a little bit entitled and thought he maybe secure a transfer to Chelsea, and probably wanted that, but he appears to have found his footing. Two superb finishes in the Leeds match pulled his side from a deficit. He was the difference maker.

Forwards

Callum Wilson (West Ham): I noted he doesn't look his normal self. It seemed he was slower. Yet amazing. Simply phenomenal. He was excellent. Brilliant in his play and through his scoring.

Harvey Barnes (Newcastle): A particularly intriguing player. He plays well, usually better off the bench, but Anthony Gordon has an injury so he has to play. He failed to convert a huge chance against Manchester City at 0-0 with his simplest attempt. However showing the inner resilience to place himself into difficult situations and get a brace was great.

Coach

Sean Dyche (Nottingham Forest): He steps in and surpasses Arne Slot. A excellent strategy. Possibly it was five or six for Forest and nobody could have argued.
